How old do I need to be to learn to drive?
You can apply for a provisional driving licence when you’re 15 years and 9 months old.
You can start driving a car when you’re 17.
You can drive a car when you are 16 if you get, or have applied for, the enhanced rate of the mobility component of Personal Independence Payment (PIP).
Can I start my lessons before passing my theory test?
Absolutely we encourage you to get started as you will pick up things that will be in your theory test.
Where do I take my theory test?
There are theory test centres all around the UK. As your lessons will be in your local area Greengates driving school would recommend the Theory Test Centre in Little Germany Bradford.
When can I take my Practical Driving Test?
Once you pass your theory test you can book your practical test. We will let you know when you are test ready and guide you all the way through.
How many lessons can I have per week?
We will look at your availability and our availability to get you booked in for as many driving lessons you feel comfortable with.
How long are driving lessons?
This is entirely up to you the most common lessons are 1, 1½ and 2 hours. Most pupils tend to prefer 1½ or 2 hour lessons as 1 hour isn’t quite enough and greater progress can be made.
